On 21 and 2 May 2025, the Radon Forum took place at the Urgeiriça Mining Complex in Canas de Senhorim, bringing together 35 participants, including experts, researchers, public authorities and companies, to discuss challenges and solutions related to radon monitoring and mitigation.
The programme included presentations of practical case studies, round-table discussions, demonstrations of active and passive detectors, and sessions dedicated to construction and ventilation solutions for reducing radon exposure in buildings.
The event also featured technical visits to the Urgeiriça mining complex and Chalet Aurora, where monitoring and mitigation solutions were demonstrated. The forum provided an important opportunity for knowledge sharing and networking among professionals from different sectors.
