On November 7, 2023, in celebration of European Radon Day, a public awareness session on the risks associated with exposure to radon gas was held, gathering over 100 participants. The event took place in Torrelodones, Madrid, under the European project LeaRn4LIFE and featured a lecture by Professor Dr. Luis Quindos, who presented insights into the challenges and advances in radon study and mitigation.
LeaRn4LIFE is a European project aiming to reduce radon exposure risk through knowledge and training. Coordinated by the Portuguese Environment Agency, the consortium includes the University of Coimbra and the National Laboratory for Civil Engineering from Portugal, and the University of Cantabria from Spain. The project focuses on educating, training, and raising awareness among citizens about the risks associated with radon and the measures for its mitigation.
