On April 23, 2024, a public awareness session on radon gas was held in La Puebla de los Infantes, with the participation of around 40 local residents. The session, titled "Radon Gas and the Potential Risk to the Population", was organized as part of the European project LeaRn4LIFE and aimed to inform the population about the risks of radon exposure and preventive measures.
The session was led by Professors Dr. Luis Quindos, from the University of Cantabria, and Dr. Juan Mantero Cabrera, from the University of Seville, who presented accessible and informative content on the origin of radon, its presence in homes, and its impact on health.
LeaRn4LIFE is an European project with the mission of reducing radon exposure risk through training, awareness, and the dissemination of scientific and practical information within communities.
