Workshop: Research and development (R&D) on radon gas

Between November 11 and 13, 2024, an important workshop on radon-related research and development (R&D) was held at the Canfranc Underground Laboratory. The event brought together around 80 participants, including researchers, technicians, and institutional representatives from various European countries.

During the workshop, Professor Dr. Luis Quindos from the University of Cantabria presented the activities of the Natural Radioactivity Laboratory, as well as its involvement in the European project LeaRn4LIFE. His presentation emphasized the lab's role in researching radon measurement and mitigation methodologies, with direct application to real-world exposure scenarios.

LeaRn4LIFE is a European project aimed at reducing health risks associated with radon through training, awareness, and applied scientific research.
