Radon gas course

On December 1, 2023, a course on radon gas was held at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Cantabria, in Santander, aimed at students of the institution. The initiative was part of the European project LeaRn4LIFE and brought together around 80 students.

The course was taught by Professor Dr. Luis Quindos, a faculty member at the university and a specialist in radon research and mitigation. Topics covered during the session included the origin and behavior of radon gas, its effects on human health, particularly its role as a risk factor for lung cancer, and methods of measurement and prevention.

LeaRn4LIFE is an European project that promotes training and awareness about radon, aiming to reduce exposure to this gas and to foster scientific knowledge among current and future health professionals.
