Awareness session on the risks associated with radon gas exposure

On November 24, 2023, an awareness session on the risks associated with radon gas exposure was held at the facilities of ENUSA, located near Saelices el Chico, close to Ciudad Rodrigo. The session brought together around 35 participants and was part of the European project LeaRn4LIFE.

The session was led by Professor Dr. Luis Quindos from the University of Cantabria and featured a special guest from the Institute for Radiological Protection and Dosimetry (IRD) of CNEN, based in Rio de Janeiro. Topics included the presence of radon in workplace environments, health risks for workers, and strategies for gas monitoring and mitigation.

LeaRn4LIFE is a European project that aims to reduce radon exposure risk through training, awareness, and dissemination of best practices, promoting knowledge among professionals, citizens, and institutions.
